The applet above compares the lines students drew by eye with the lines they drew using calculated least squares coefficients.

First, it shows the eyeball lines. Click on the LS lines button to switch from the eyeball regression lines to the least squares regression lines.

Click the button, now labelled Both, to see both sets of lines.

Click the button, now labelled Eye lines to go back to displaying just the eyeball lines.

Does one estimator appear to be more efficient than the other?
